The Fox in the Attic is a short story by Scottish author James Robertson. 

It’s part of 365: Stories, a project in which he wrote a single story every day for a year, with each story exactly 365 words long, no more, no less.   Aidan O’Rourke has composed a piece of music to accompany each story, which you can listen to on the 365 Stories website.
